David's Backpacker Resort is one of the original Yasawa backpacker establishments on the freehold island of Tavewa, towards the northern end of the group. This is a lively beach resort with a party style atmosphere. The island can be walked around in an hour - there's another two accommodation properties on the island so this is a place for meeting people rather than feeling you're on an uninhabited remote island.
Accommodation at David's Place is in either a large mixed dormitory with double bunk beds, in private thatch bungalows alongside the beach with shared bathroom facilities or in two wooden family cottages set in the landscaped gardens with private en-suite bathroom (cold water only).
The restaurant is set back from the beach in the coconut grove and offers a bar and set meal plan. The resort has its own generator to provide electricity in the morning and evenings only.
Westside Watersports can be found adjacent to David's and offers PADI scuba diving courses. There are also kayaks for hire and a privately run massage hut along the beach. The island has several walking tracks along its grassy hills that make pleasant sunrise and sunset vistas over the neighbouring islands.
